Rehabilitation of the Santa Teresa Convent (Donostia-San Sebastian)

The Municipal Centre for Innovative Companies is a building of offices and industrial premises for the initial introduction of Innovative Companies, promoted by the Development Society of the San Sebastian City Council. It is located in the Igara industrial park. It has a total built area of 15,000 m2 which houses 60 premises, 200 parking spaces, an auditorium for 80 people, as well as rooms for common use. The entire building is set up with the most advanced auxiliary and communications facilities.

The Gipuzkoa County Council wishes to convert this building into a Historic-Artistic Legacy Centre to preserve and restore the history of Gipuzkoa and, at the same time, show the value of the archaeological remains in the building. The Santa Teresa Convent is closely associated with the history of the city. It has been a witness to wars and fires and beneath it there are remains of the Santa Ana Basilica (14th-15th centuries), the Council Tower and remains of the medieval city wall. There are also remains from Roman times, discovered during the archaeological explorations.

Renovation of carriages for the Mexico Metro

Viaduct and Aqueduct - Overflow pipe for the Txingurri channel in the Herrera neighbourhood

IDOM has undertaken the renovation design for the "N" units of the NM-73B model ordered by C.A.F. for the Mexico Metro. 26 "N" units (engines without a cabin) have been converted into "M" units (engines with driving cabins)so as to be able to form shorter units for use on lines with less passengers. Likewise, Technical Assistance in dismantling, forming, manufacturing, testing and putting together of the prototype in Spain and the first installations in Mexico was also provided.

The Design of the Overflow pipe for the Txingurri irrigation channel and the connecting road between the Txingurri and Herrera paths, contracted by the Donostia-San Sebastian City Council, aims to prevent flooding in the lower part of Herrera. To this end, 550 metres of new channel has been designed to divide the current irrigation channel, of which approximately 40 metres will consist of a structural section that will act as a bridge and aqueduct.

Air separation plant

Master Plan for Minimisation of Environmental Impact of Contaminated Soils

Expansion of the air separation plant for obtaining oxygen, nitrogen and argon for Praxair in Olaberria (Gipuzkoa). The project includes equipment and lines for process fluids designed in PDS, civil works and auxiliary facilities. Among the principal equipment, of note is the 55 m high distillation column, a 6 MW air compressor and a 1,500 m2 nitrogen tank.

Master Plan for Fundiciones de Vera, S.A. for several items such as the elimination of the contaminants spillage into the Bidasoa river due to the existing contaminated soils on the site and the design and installation of an industrially refrigerated closed water circuit.

Layout Design for a Forging and Wheel and Axle Treatment Factory

Manufacturing plant for agglomerated timber particle panels in Lure (France)

Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF) is one of the international leaders in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for railway systems. The objective of this study was to estimate the size of the different production zones and intermediate and final storage zones, as well as to find the best alternative for installing all the equipment without interrupting the production and to improve the flows of materials within the plant.

New manufacturing plant for Sonae Tafisa (Isoroy) to replace an existing plant, maintaining some buildings and a melamine panel line from the existing plant. The new factory is a large industrial complex of around 200,000 m2, with facilities ranging from receipt and storage of raw materials (logs, sawdust, recycled timber) to the despatch of melamine panels cut to measure for clients.

New Bleaching line

Security in Water Supply and Treatment Facilities

Installation for Papresa, S.A. of a new Bleaching Line parallel to the existing line, to increase recycled paper production by 350 TPD (tonnes produced daily). The raw material for this line is used paper and the end product obtained is cleaned and bleached paper paste for paper production.

The Gipuzkoa Water Company, which runs the water supply and treatment facilities for the majority of Gipuzkoa Province, has contracted IDOM for the Security and Safety Facilities Design required for the supply network production centres: 7 reservoirs, 6 DWTP and 12 WWTP, as well as the implementation of these measures.
