IDOM has been working with the European Commission since Spain entered the European Union in 1986, and has developed more than 100 projects and studies within Europe and in Latin America, Eastern Europe, China and the Mediterranean.

To work more closely and more efficiently with the EC, IDOM opened a permanent office in Brussels in 1994 which currently has a dozen people dedicated primarily to commercial activities, lobbying and following the progress of projects financed by the Commission. This office also deals with companies, institutions and organisations in programmes related to the university, research, voluntary work, business and several other sectors promoted by the EC. The projects developed have focused particularly on the Consulting, Environmental, Energy, Architecture and Transport fields.
